Caldwell-Lazard CorePlus Infrastructure Fund capitalizing on electrification and AI growth
Dan McGoey, Portfolio Manager for Lazard Asset Management joined Steve Darling from Proactive at the Canadian Securities Exchange to discuss the Caldwell Lazard Core Plus Infrastructure Fund (CSE: CPIF), a investment vehicle designed to provide exposure to both traditional infrastructure assets and emerging growth opportunities tied to global infrastructure trends. The fund, which began trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange on August 17, combines a portfolio of core infrastructure assets—including utilities, toll roads and airports—with a complementary “plus” strategy focused on companies that stand to benefit from major long-term infrastructure investment themes. McGoey explained that the fund is built around three powerful structural growth drivers: electrification, digital infrastructure and transportation modernization. Within electrification, the portfolio targets opportunities in renewable energy storage, grid modernization and medium-to-high voltage electrical equipment, offering investors exposure to the critical technologies supporting the global energy transition. In the digital infrastructure space, McGoey noted that while there are relatively few publicly traded pure-play data center operators, significant opportunities exist among the companies supplying the equipment, technologies and infrastructure needed to build and operate modern data centers. As demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services accelerates, these businesses are positioned to benefit from long-term investment in digital infrastructure. Transportation modernization represents the third pillar of the strategy, capturing opportunities created by the ongoing evolution of transportation networks and infrastructure systems around the world. A key differentiator of the fund is its investment process, which combines Lazard’s global team of fundamental research analysts with a dedicated quantitative team. McGoey said this approach blends deep bottom-up company analysis with systematic risk management, allowing the fund to pursue higher-growth opportunities while maintaining the lower volatility characteristics that have traditionally attracted investors to infrastructure assets. The result is a diversified portfolio that seeks to deliver stable income and long-term capital appreciation while benefiting from some of the most important infrastructure investment trends shaping the global economy. The Caldwell Lazard Core Plus Infrastructure Fund trades on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the ticker CPIF. #proactiveinvestors #ETF #Caldwell-LazardCorePlusInfrastructureFund #cse #LazardAssetManagement #CPIF #InfrastructureInvesting #Utilities #DigitalInfrastructure #Electrification #AIInfrastructure #EnergyTransition #CSEListed #InvestmentFunds
